Atlantic Hearts/Cutting Cafe Mashup

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge and some Cutting Cafe Inspiration!

This time around at the Cutting Cafe we're talking about a lost art form... the handwritten letter.  Regina has an awesome new file called Let's Write a Letter.  There is so much included in this file including cutting files to make this box with or without a window or there is a second box that is kind of like a folder with pockets and tabbed dividers...

There are also cuts for a divider for this box that creates a little shelf for the pen (forgive my pink pen but it was the prettiest one I had...  see that pretty plaid washi tape all over this project?... on the lid, on the papers, and on the belly band wrapped around the papers and envelopes... that's available over at the Cutting Cafe Shop... LOVE plaid!  And the papers and stickers I used were from a friend that was cleaning out her scrap room.  They're from Simple Stories and it's a beautiful pack.  I also used some bronze shimmer trim around the lid just above the plaid washi.

So this file also includes a wide variety of printable papers that are just black or with some images included that are in color.  I chose a paper that had only the lines and outline and used my custom stamp made from Fall images from the Cutting Cafe Shop to decorate them.   I colored them in with my Zig Clean watercolor markers.   The envelope and liner cut files are also included...the liners are so pretty and match the papers used on the box and decorations...  what a great gift this would make!

And if you're not as old as I am... from a time when handwritten letters were all we had... there is also a handy printout available that you can include in your set that might just help you get started writing your letter... very cool!

I used this sketch to decorate my box... but with the window in the lid it was easy to incorporate the belly band into the sketch... lots of fun!

This is gorgeous, Lisa! I remember having penpals as a young girl - it was so fun to send and receive letters! I agree that it's a lost art.
